Review - Kate Powderless Liquid for Cover SPF20 PA++

Hello, folks! :D

How are you guys doing since new year? For some, school has started yet again, going to work like usual, while others are still in holiday, like me. Lol! Somehow I kinda caught in 9gag's sarcasm for this new year. (Y'know, the Robert Downey Jr. meme?) Now I'm getting out of topic, sorry guys. :p

In any other way, have you join my giveaway? I'm giving 50 cosme samples and 25 face masks~ It's my first giveaway so I really hope you guys would join :D

And so! This Kate Powderless Liquid is my favorite foundation so far. I've been using this for about 2.5 years (since my first time traveling to Japan) and when I went to Japan again last year I bought another one. The packaging comes in simple cylinder with a pump to dispense the product. It's so sleek just like other Kate's products.

They are in different shades though. One's in OC-B (right) and one's in OC-C (left)

Maybe some of you will pop a question like 'why bought 2 different shades?' It actually because sometimes OC-B is not 'suitable' for me. Some people would ask me like, 'are you sick?', 'you looked so pale'. It's not like it's too light for skin tone. But well, originally people will judge from my face and always saying like 'omg you're so white'. Even though my arms are actually a few shades darker. So in foundation I won't hesitate to go by a shade darker.
Fortunately OC-C isn't that so much darker or something so I could easily change in between according to my mood (what?) and my skin tone of the day..... (Honestly I almost couldn't tell the difference by the monitor.. In reality it's more noticeable)

What so special about this Powderless Liquid is that after you apply it onto your skin, after 15 secs the texture will changes. Below is a moment after applied. It's already noticeable that the ends (that has less product) already has a different texture. So basically the thinner the layer the quicker it turns somewhat powdery

This is after about 15 secs. Sorry for the blurry pic. But you can see now the texture is already more even than before. I guess the head didn't dry because it's too thick.

This is after I blend it again. Actually it almost nothing to blend...
Once you left it to be set and turns powdery, it's so hard to blend it. It's almost useless to try blending it after it sets so I have to make sure I spread and blend it well onto my face quickly before it dries and sets.

And I figure out that it's actually kind of waterproof. You see when I swatched it and try to wash it off by rubbing it won't come off....

Well, it doesn't stay that waterproof all day long. Let's just say, if I wanted to go out all day long (10-12 hours), I must reapply because my T-zone would get oily and make it wear off. Maybe some of you would think that's already great, but in my experience, cushions + MJ powder combo is top-notch in staying power compared to this.

But still this is a really good product! This is my no.1 alternative to my combo for everyday, everywhere, anytime use.

Picture to the left is bare, and one to the right is with the Kate Powderless Liquid. Not too shabby, eh? Definitely good. I would say the coverage is medium to medium high since it's quite buildable too.
One pump is not enough, but two is also too much. So about 1.5 pump for the whole face is enough for me.

Down side of this product, is that it isn't sold here in Indonesia. If I ever want to buy it again I need to order online or some like that. *sob sob*

And so that's all for today's review!

See you guys in the next post! :D

IBB MUC January 2015 "Exotic Japan" Underneath Your Skin #Smartlook

Hello, folks! :D

Here I am back again with another makeup challenge by Indonesian Beauty Blogger x CamJoe
So,who's CamJoe? She's a singer and her real name is Camellia Jonathan and yes, Underneath Your Skin is her latest song, which featuring Hatsune Miku! Cool right. The song has lots of electronic effects and really screams out technology in my ear. LOL.

Anyhow, IBB already held the MUC in November and December with different theme. This time the theme is Exotic Japan.

So the look is supposed to inspired from the song. So kinda like, technology x exotic..... Kinda contrast, eh? But Japan indeed is a country combining nature (how beautiful the view there) and tech (not to mention the virtual singer, Miku...).I saw CJ in the banner the first thing that came to my mind is a festival. Those in mangas where the girls dressed in yukata and hang out around the shrine (lol! read too much manga). But the word Exotic and Japan is definitely geisha. So I kinda combining a natural x geisha look and here it is.

*cough*that chubby round face argh!
No if you think I choose a wrong shade of my face makeup. I just add a layer of white shimmering powder on my face after using foundie. I didn't use it till the neck though...  (probably the biggest mistake) I still want to keep that geisha look by long and upward eyeliner.

I used kinda-burgundy-shade eyeliner and extended downwards under the eye for more traditional look. I also used blush but its under the 'apple of the cheeks' (or whatever) where we supposed to put our bronzer for shading.

I don't want to go over fabulous by using thick eyelashes so I only wear accent one and mascara

Red lips is definitely on the list. I actually made it kinda gradient but well the camera didn't caught it! And about the hair, flowers are great on the head! Muahahaha! Japanese girls always use flower hair pins on their head when then wear yukata, no? I only make like a half-done-bun. Because of my haircut is not possible to have a proper bun,,,
And my current hair is ombre, because I bleached my tail, and it's been 5 months since I'd done full head dyeing so the roots are growinggg~

Products used:
Integrate Gracy Essence BB #1
Majolica Majorca Little Humming Book IV
Milani Illuminating Face Powder #3
Majolica Majorca Brow Customized Super Slim
Kate Gel Eyeliner Matte Black
Etude House Drawing Show Creamy Pencil
Etude House Rosy Tint Lips
Dolly Wink Eyelash No. 15

That's all! Below I'm gonna insert some screenshots as the requirements

And below is the Underneath Your Skin Teaser! You can download the song for free in www.rollingstone.co.id

I always try to spare some time for this one aside that the choir activity has gone super mad. Thankfully I finally finished this post. LOL! Anyhow I'll be going to Bandung for 11 days, yes, eleven, for the choir competition so I'll be absent till I get home by 5 February.

Wish me luck and see you guys in the next post! :D

Event - JAPAN Beauty Week 26 January 2014

Hello, folks! :D

There's always a first time in everything and yea, my first time being invited to an event as a blogger yesterday. So excited when I know that B Blog sent me the invitation for JAPAN Beauty Week!
So actually it was said that the event starts from 11 am, but then I saw in facebook that they said the bloggers are supposed to gather at 12 and I think, okay I'll come at 12....

The first thing that started was the Bloggers talk show. So the host came out and introduce the blogger to the audience. First coming out was Meilani from Pygmalion Land and I was like, 'Wogh! I know Pygmalion Land!' *norak alert*

And then the second blogger coming out was Jessica Yamada who usually called Jess and actually she's behind Gowigasa and I was like *again*, 'Hey that's the online store my not-so-close-friend used to get/buy things!'

And the third blogger was Cominica! And I was like *AGAIN*, 'Omg she looks so slim!!' Well pardon me as I never met (not even one) other bloggers.....

So the host started to ask to the bloggers how they first active in blogging. Continued to how many times in a week they use facial mask, what kind of mask they use, what mask type that they use, where they usually buy their masks. And then talking about their skin type and skincare routine.

In this session they talked a lot about Japan, like how the weather in Japan affects their skin and such. I realized that Jessica keep pointed that she went to Japan with Stella without pointing who (I was guessing she meant Stella Lee) and actually at the end of the talk show the host IS Stella Lee! I was very surprised because I thought she's blond.... She looked very different. >_<

After the talk show the next session was from Astalift. They start by explaining what cause pigmentation, how is the process of pigmentation and how to prevent pigmentation (Actually I remember what the host said but I don't think I'll explain that so long and make this post such an instant biological post. lol).

It was said that astaxanthin, pico collagen, yeast extract, vitamin C, arbutin, and apricot juice is what helps to prevent pigmentation and those ingredients are in their whitening series.

Followed by the demo of the skincare which starts from lotion, essence and finished by the cream. All is orange in color even though the packaging is white.
This session is quite informational for me. I felt like I woke my biology studies again. LOL.

Next is the session by Kracie. They started by 'Yukata Lady' and honestly, the painful truth is that it's very awkward. It's way toooooooo long that the music keep on repeating and stopped suddenly 2-3 times. The Yukata Ladies were just showing off the products, but really. Too long. But they are indeed pretty. xD

After all the yukata lady thing ended, the MC introduced the person from Kracie Japan and introduce that there are 3 sub-brand from Kracie, which is naive of the cleansing, Hadabisei of the mask and Ichikami of the hair product. Surprisingly, they're doing demo and the one that's doing it was the person from Kracie Japan! At this part the MC and the guy was so funny! >v<

This time it's the session from Menard. One of the booth-lady asked me whether I'm a blogger invited by Menard and I said no. Well I thought I'm not invited by Menard, I'm invited by B Blog... Come to think about it did I think I gave a stupid answer? *sigh*

So actually it's the launching of Menard's and so the host explained how double cleansing is very important and demoed it on Stella's hand. They let us try too anyhow. The lotion, milk lotion and cream. This is for people with dry skin, they said. And next they even let us try the mask. On the hand of course.

After trying I was just thinking that it indeed is an interesting product to buy until she said it's only for professional use only so it's only available in Menard's facial salon (how disappointing....) When the mask dry it becomes exactly like jelly.

Right after the session I then realized the next next (yes double next) person on the right is Rhea! She's that blogger whose face looks like Sunny SNSD. (Only my opinion okayy) I guess she's invited by Menard.

Last session that I attended was from Kanebo. He's (Mutsuya Sakai) doing a make-up demo for the upcoming Chinese New Year. I was hoping the MUA will maybe mention Kate but nah, I only heard he mentioned Lunasol.
The MUA seemed like applying the make up so fast and accurately. (or maybe just the video on the back was super slow....)

I left after Kanebo's session because I was really hungry and so I quickly went to MOS Cafe, eat some food and went home. You guys might think like, why didn't you eat between the sessions? The truth is I didn't really know when the next session would start and I was hesitate, like, I'm supposed to follow the event from 11 to 5 and I thought it's best to watch them all. I wasn't that hungry until Kanebo's session started -__-. Amateur me going to an event and till now I actually dunno whether I can leave an hour or so and skipped 1-2 sessions or no. (Feeling so amateur....)

Below is photo of the booths based on position with the stage on the left of the collaged picture (well just use your imagination..... lol)

Some about the booth (+experience):
1. Hada Labo gave their samples in exchange of our data and doing skin test on their booth (seriously what could be better?!!). On the skin test, super weirdly, my very obvious pores on the T-zone were not detected. Maybe thanks to MJ Skin Lingerie?! (Review coming soon!)

2. I didn't really visit Menard and Astalift's booths because the booth girls were completely ignoring me so whatever.......... Maybe they think I'm not suitable for their products or something.

3. So B Blog's booth was grouped with Kawaii Beauty Japan, Olive des Olive, Million Carats and Halo Jepang. That's where I re-registered and there were some stickers, pins, key-holders, brochures and even name cards.

4. On Kanebo's booth we could get a make-over! Yay! But I wasn't in the mood for one.  >_<

5. Kracie gave bunch of samples and masks of their Ichikami and Hadabisei and all we need to do is just fill-out a form!

Overall it's great to attend the event because I could gain so much new things. I like listening to people talking 'bout health and beauty and to know other brands better too. It's what important for girls I think. lol. And it's actually fun for me. xD

AT LAST! What I got from B Blog ID and the event!
And the brochures.... (psst the Million Carat's is super cool inside!)

So! Are you interested? Do you want to attend events like this and get freebies? Go to www.bblog.web.id and all you need to do is just sign up and voila! Every update on new events will be e-mailed to you. What are you waiting for? Sign up now! ;)

Anyhow this is the end of the post.... (Omg, back pain in the midnight...)
I hope you're not bored reading my super long post and so see you guys on my next post! :D

Review - Kanebo KATE Crystallise Quartz in BR-2

Hello folks! :D

Back again for reviews!
I actually done with the on-eyes picture weeks ago but I haven't photo the swatches and the packaging itself so I just finished it today!

KATE eye shadow has attracted me from the first time I knew it.
The first is because it's very pigmented and beautiful in packaging compared to my mom's old-i-dunno-what-the brand eyeshadow palette. The one I tried first is the diamond cut eyes one.
The second is because the CM model was Mika Nakashima! omg I love her songs and her looks >w<
The CM soundtracks were her songs too and I'm very berry sold to it. Lol.

Unfortunately now the model has changed, twice. I like the current model though. Her eyes really caught me. >_<

Let's continue to the review,,,,

That's how it looks like. When closed, of course.
I really love how it really shows its name! Crytallised Quartz. KATE always wins when it comes to gorgeous packaging. <3

When you open it,

Ta-daa~!! Uhm, not that good already :x
I bought this in May a year ago. Of course it's used! xD
You see, it comes with a brush too. All the KATE's eye shadow palettes I have comes with a brush anyway. The brush is so KATE somehow after times used it may have some fall out of the sponge.....

Now it's time for the colors!

You see, it contains 3 eye shadows and 1 glitter.
B for the whole eyelid, C for the fold of the eyelid, and D for above the lash line. (Note: this is just my own words. Not the translation but I bet you all know what the instruction picture means)
I bought this in Hong Kong's Watson. That's why it's in Chinese. I followed my sister for her working trip  ^_^

The swatches~

A is really just silvery glitters.
B I think is more like a base. It has shimmers.
C is usual brown with a little shimmers
D is usual dark brown with a little shimmers.

On-eye results~

(Ya I know I know my eye's fold line is not connected T_T)
Anyhow my eyes were kinda swollen when I take these pictures... Pardon me.
The middle and bottom left is without the glitter.
The rest is with the glitter.
If you want to use it for daily make up you better don't use the glitter.
But if you want to use it for party YES use the glitter. I used it under the eye before I know it was meant to be over the eyelid! LOL. But of course it's still beautiful!

Conclusion:
Design. As gorgeous as always. 5 stars.
Colors. 5 stars. Very pigmented!
Price? No doubt! Totally worth it as you can use it daily and party. 5 stars~
The applicator, 3 stars. It may fall out like dirts...

So what do you think??

By the way, I'll be going to Singapore and Japan, with transit via Kuala Lumpur. I'll be going for 3 weeks!
Rocks, right? yea I know! I'm so excited. The main journey is Japan though. I'll be in Singapore only for like 5 days.
I'll keep blogging if I got wi-fi there okay!
See you all!

With love,
Carol
